Dallas Opera Perspectives: A Conversation with Dr. Beck Weathers

Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing & Visual Arts

Join us for an extraordinary conversation with Dr. Beck Weathers about one of the deadliest days in modern mountaineering history. Hosted by General Director and CEO Keith Cerny, it’s a rare and compelling look at a true-life adventure on Mount Everest with tragic consequences.

Eight people died near the summit of the world’s highest peak within one 24-hour period in May 1996. Dr. Weathers managed to survive some of the harshest conditions on the planet and make his way back to base camp, having been twice left for dead.

Why settle for second and third-person narratives when you can hear the whole story for yourself? A unique perspective available to a select few who seize this opportunity to encounter history.

This event will be held inside Montgomery Arts Theater at Booker T. Washington HSPVA. Nearest parking will be Lexus Red garage located beneath the Winspear Opera House.
