ARTS & HEALTH IN THE MILITARY: Meeting the Challenge of a Post-War Zone Life

Presenters: VSA Texas’ Distinguished Artist Veterans Program and Bring Everyone In The Zone
Tuition: FREE

Veteran Writes, a project of The Writer’s Garret, invites you to join us for this FREE workshop presented by the VSA Texas Distinguished Artist Veterans Program and Bring Everyone in the Zone (BEITZ). The workshop is designed for writers and artists who teach, arts administrators, therapeutic arts professionals, theatre directors, counselors, and interested citizens. All are welcome.

VSA Texas challenges perceptions of how people contribute by creating an arts-inspired, inclusive community of individuals with diverse abilities.

BEITZ provides education and support to service personnel and their families, especially those who are experiencing the devastating effects of Post-Traumatic Stress, Traumatic Brain Injury, Military Sexual Assault, and other trauma in their lives.

  • Gain knowledge of military culture and technology
  • Understand the stressors soldiers/veterans face and the challenges of transitioning to civilian life
  • Learn about successful art programs that serve veterans and their family members through this transition

This FREE 3-hour training includes time for questions and discussion and will give you new tools for supporting our troops through creativity, expression, and healing.

RSVP at the event page to let us know you will attend.
