Sammons Jazz and the USA Film Festival co-present the North Texas premiere of “Bill Evans, Time Remembered,” a new documentary film examining the life and music of the gifted jazz pianist. The film from award-winning producer Bruce Spiegel features “good and heart felt” interviews with Paul Motian, Chuck Israels, Tony Bennett, Jack DeJohnette and others who spent time with Evans.
Immediately after the screening at the Angelika Film Center Dallas, Cameron Smith, artistic director of the Bishop Arts Jazz series, moderates a Q&A with the producer. The event then moves to the Sammons Center for the Arts, 3630 Harry Hines Blvd., for a reception and selections of the music of Bill Evans as performed by Arlington Jones, artistic director of the Sammons Jazz series and a Steinway Artist.
The entire event is free and open to the public, but reservations are required. Email your name, telephone number and desired number of seats of [email protected] or call the Sammons Center at (214) 520-7788 weekdays, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
