One of the most complex creations of man prior to the Industrial Revolution, the pipe organ is heralded as the “king of instruments.” Organist Michael Shake will explore the history, mechanics and music of the pipe organ, then demonstrate its functions on the church’s custom-made 2,744-pipe Rosales organ. Shake is director of music and artistic ministries at King of Glory Church and dean of the Dallas chapter, American Guild of Organists. He will conclude his presentation with a brief concert.
