Play Clay Collaboration

Haley-Henman Gallery

Haley-Henman Gallery presents Play Clay Collaboration, facilitated by Kathleen Beecher and Brenda Foster on each Saturday in May from 12-3 pm.  These events are free and open to the public of all ages.

The idea for this project came from the inspiration of Group Nine's exhibit at Haley-Henman this past January.  Group Nine involved nine artists who practiced collaboration by leaving their egos at the studio door.  As they said, " The tenth artist is the artwork itself."  Being potters, Kathleen and Brenda thought about collaboration in clay that extends the experience to anyone who wants to get their hands in mud!  For Play Clay Collaboration, we encourage all participants to embrace the process of coming together to create an ephemeral artwork in clay.  At the end of the project, the work will be recycled into clay.

This collaboration continues our programing that encourages interactive collaboration in art, such as Breaking the Sound Barrier (co-curated by Cassandra Fink 2009), Connections (2011), Pulsation (Pierre Durand, artist-in-residence 2011), and Interweaving (Ann Marie Newman, artist-in-residence 2016).The event is free.  Time is 12 - 3 pm.  Dress very casual.  The location is on the porch of Gallery 422 at The Workroom, 422 Singleton Boulevard, Dallas 75212.  Free parking is at the corner of Beeville and Singleton.
