We love movies in all their forms. Features, documentaries, YouTube mini-comedies, Instagram stories and fine art films. This workshop is about making little movies using whatever technology you have access to. Even a basic smart phone shoots good quality video and with some planning and an understanding of basic lighting, sound, directing and editing you can turn out a short piece that will entertain, inform or move your audience.
In five days of hands-on creativity and collaboration your young video director will shoot, using whatever camera they bring with them (smart phone, tablet, camcorder or DSLR). They'll learn the basics of cinematography including directing, blocking, shot planning, interview techniques, lighting, sound and editing. On the last day families will join us for a screening of completed projects.
