The Malvinas

Uncle Calvin's Coffeehouse - Northpark Presbyterian Church

The Malvinas are a feisty blend of Jazz, Cajun and Folk-pop with roots all over North America. They alternate lead vocals, tight harmonies and quirky arrangements to their songs. Beth Cahill was born in Evanston, Illinois, but has wandered just about everywhere since. She left home as a classical musician, intending to play the French horn. She discovered quickly that her real passion was not the symphony but the song. Lisa Markley began her musical journey as a trombonist. A multi-instrumentalist (voice, guitar, piano, banjo, and trombone), and she is a graduate of the prestigious School of Music at the University of North Texas where she performed in the Lab Bands and in the Jazz Singers, studying composition, jazz, voice, trombone, and music education. New Orleans-based Gina Forsyth is an award-winning singer/songwriter, who is known for her wizardry on fiddle and guitar. With an alto as unique as it is soulful, unpretentious songs that cut straight to the heart, and a wicked sense of humor, her live performances are legend.
