Celebrate National Letter Writing Month by attending Address Me: Everything Needed to Send a Piece of You.
We’ll provide dozens of stationery and postcard options, stamps, pens, a working typewriter, and tips on the art of letter writing. All you’ll need is the address of a loved one. A requested donation of $1 or more secures the stationery and stamp of your choice.
For inspiration, there will be a small exhibit of vintage letters, including a priceless 1939 letter about a Dallas cocktail party.
Letter writing shouldn’t be a dying art. Expressive writing has been linked to stress reduction and an overall sense of well-being. Virginia Woolf called it “the humane art, which owes its origins to the love of friends” and Emily Dickinson likened it to immortality.
