Plano Community Band Concert Presents "Musical Mosiac"

Eisemann Center

Continuing its 38th year of entertaining North Texas residents and led by Principal Conductor and Artistic Director Joe Frank, Jr., and Associate Conductor Jim Carter, the Plano Community Band will perform classic works such as Morton Gould’s American Salute and Alfred Reed’s Armenian Dances.

The Musical Mosaic will also include the world premier of David Lovrien’s most recent composition, Ballad, Blues, and Boogie, commissioned to celebrate the life and legacy of the Plano Community Band’s Musical Director Emeritus Ad Infinitum, Tommy Guilbert (1940-2014), and featuring renowned drummer, Stockton Helbing.

Continuing the Music For Life outreach program into its second season, the Band also welcomes Plano I.S.D. band directors Derek Phillips (Armstrong Middle School) and Rebecca Cronk (Frankford Middle School), who will conduct the Band in selected U.I.L. contest pieces.

The concert will be Sunday, April 23, at 2:30 p.m. at the Eisemann Center of the Performing Arts in Richardson and is free to the public. Advance reservations are recommended and are available by visiting the Plano Community Band website at www.planoband.com.
