Seussical

Woodrow Wilson High School

The Woodrow Wilson Performing Arts Department is proud to present its 60th consecutive musical theater production, Seussical! Based on several of the books by Dr. Seuss, Seussical delights audiences young and old with favorite characters The Cat in the Hat, Horton, Gertrude McFuzz and more. The entire family will enjoy being led by The Cat on a theatrical journey into the Jungle of Nool, where Horton, the kind elephant, discovers a speck of dust containing Whoville. Horton decides he must protect the speck of dust (and also an abandoned egg left in his care by Mayzie the lazy bird). Only Gertrude McFuzz will stand with Horton to protect Whoville from the other animals in the jungle. One of the most widely produced musical theater shows, Seussical is a wonderful story that teaches the importance of standing up for what you believe.

Woodrow Wilson High School has a rich tradition of musical theater and may be able to stake a claim as the home of the high school musical, producing its first, Best Foot Forward, in 1943. The East Dallas community comes together each year to ensure the Woodrow musical is a success, and attending the musical is a yearly tradition for many in Dallas.

Evening performances will be April 20, 21 and 22 at 7:30 pm and the Sunday matinee performance will be April 23 at 2:30 pm. Theater doors open 30 minutes prior to show time.
