Artluck Figure Drawing Class

This is a figure drawing class led by local Fort Worth artist, Alexa Alarcon de Wierenga. Alexa began creating art at a very young age. At five she was in a stain glass window class with Mary Lynn Bowman, at 14 went to Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, and later obtained a BFA in painting at UT Arlington. At Booker T. WHSPVA, she was the first freshman to be allowed to participate in an extracurricular, nude, figure drawing class guided by Nancy Miller. Alexa’s artwork is heavily influenced by the 4 years of figure drawing classes, her concepts sweep within psychological states of mind, environmental and social politics. She currently works at Dow Art Galleries, LLC as an Art Restorer, while continuing to work as an artist in the evenings.

The subject of the class will be a live nude model and the sessions will be split into two 45min sessions with a 15min break in-between.The first session begins at 6:30 p.m. and consists of several poses timed at different increments to serve as a warm-up. The second session is a single 45min pose that begins at 7:30 p.m.
