Has Miao, 2015 winner of the Concerto Competition at the University of North Texas College of Music, was born in Inner Mongolia, an autonomous region of the People’s Republic of China. He began playing violin at the age of four and later moved to Shanghai to study. He gave his first full recital at the age of eleven and has performed yearly recitals since that time in Shanghai and Inner Mongolia. He has won awards and contests in both Europe and the US. He is currently pursuing a Master of Music degree at UNT.
Pianist and composer Arsentiy Kharitonov will accompany Mr. Miao. Placed in the “top ranks of keyboard players today” by The New York Observer after his triumphant debut at Carnegie Hall, Kharitonov has performed with orchestras in Russia, Europe, Asia, and the US. He started playing the piano at the relatively late age of 16 and was giving solo recitals within three years.
