Hans J. Schnitzler, an artist who lives and works in Dallas, believes that the world is consistently revealing its beauty in numerous ways. He thinks that all that is needed to gain a better appreciation of the magnificence of our environment is taking the time to enlarge and rearrange our personal perspective of the man-made and natural settings that surround us..
Nature at its Best is a collection of color photographs that reflect the artist’s interest in landscape art and his attraction to spectacular views of nature. The images seen in the exhibition are, according to the artist, “not ordinary landscapes.” The artist captures images of settings that are visually powerful and stimulating. The exhibition focuses primarily on three different locations in the United States: The Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona with its awe-inspiring environment that reveals a geological history that dates back millions of years; Bryce Canyon National Park in Southern Utah, which features the largest collection of otherworldly spire-shaped rock formations in the world; and Lake Powell, the largest man-made lake in the United States that is visited by millions of visitors every year.
Opening reception with the artist: Saturday, December 3, 2016 (7-9 PM). Exhibition on display through January 28, 2017.
