Mu Phi Epsilon Concert: Duo Soleo - Jooin Lee, violin and Minna Han, piano

Violinist Jooin Lee earned her bachelor of music degree in Seoul, Korea and her master's degree at the University of Maryland on full scholarship. She performed as the principal violinist with the University of Maryland's Symphony and Maryland Sinfonietta as a frequent invitee. She received a full scholarship from the National Institute of Orchestra and Brevard Summer Music Festival. At the festival, her chamber group was selected as the honor chamber group, and she won the Artists International Presentations Award which led to her New York debut recital at the Carnegie Weill Hall in the 2008–2009 season. As a solo violinist and a collaborator, Dr. Lee performed frequently in and in Busan, Korea. Currently she is concertmaster of Catholic Orchestra of Korea and Korea Philharmonic Orchestra and enjoys performing duets with her partner Minna Han. Their duet, Duo SOLEO, performs throughout the U.S and South Korea.

Pianist Minna Han made her New York debut at Carnegie Hall's prestigious Weill Recital Hall in 2007. She has performed with the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, the Los Angeles Chamber Ensemble, and the Glendale City Orchestra. She has given solo and joint recitals in the U.S. and Korea. She won the Artist International Presentations Award, as well as the Southern California Youth Piano Competition, the Southern California Junior Bach Competition, the Glendale Concerto Competition, and the Rising Star Audition in Fairfax, Virginia. She received bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Indiana University, where she was an associate instructor. She earned her Doctorate of Musical Arts from the University of Maryland. She currently teaches at the Institute for the Gifted at Konkuk University in Seoul, South Korea and performs with Ensemble MOSAIC and Duo SOLEO with her violinist, Jooin Lee, throughout the U.S. and South Korea.
