Fort Worth Civic Orchestra - Bruch Violin Concerto No. 1 Performed By FWCO Competition Winners Tim Im & Helen Hulsey


Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary - Truett Auditorium

Tim Im and Helen Hulsey, winners of Fort Worth Civic Orchestra's Young Musicians' Concerto Competition, will play a joint performance of Max Bruch’s Violin Concerto No. 1 in g minor with Kurt Sprenger and the Fort Worth Civic Orchestra. Tim will perform the first and second movements; Helen will play the final movement. This free concert will be presented in Truett Auditorium on the campus of the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, 2001 W. Seminary Drive in Fort Worth.

Also on the program are: the overture to Giuseppe Verdi’s “La Forza del Destino”; Bedřich Smetana's Dance of the Comedians from "The Bartered Bride"; the samba “Aquarela do Brasil” (Watercolors of Brazil) by Brazilian songwriter Ary Barroso; and Four Dances from the ballet “Estancia” by Argentine composer Alberto Ginastera in recognition of his centenary on April 11. Families welcomed.

The Fort Worth Civic Orchestra is supported by a grant from the Arts Council of Fort Worth, and the Young Musicians' Concerto Competition is sponsored by Dr. William Chambers.
