A Reading of SISTER, a play by Glenn Allen Smith

Kalita Humphreys Theater

Please join the Dallas Theater Center Guild for a look back at Dallas Theater Center history. This drama by Dallas playwright Glenn Allen Smith was presented at the Kalita Humpreys Theater as part of the Dallas Theater Center’s 1962-63 season.  It featured the late Mary Sue and Preston Jones, longtime DTC company members.  It is the dramatic story of a woman evangelist in Los Angeles in the 1930s.  Her charismatic presence along with her dramatized sermons and miracles filled her Temple with thousands of adoring, faithful followers.  Offstage, however, turmoil and accusations swirled with rumors of improprieties and scandals.

The role of Sister will be read by WaterTower Theatre favorite, Diana Sheehan. Other cast members include Randall Bonifay, Bradley Campbell, Bruce Coleman, Emma Colwell, Cheryl Denson, Robyn Flatt, Babs Ipaye, Joseph Katinas, Elly Lindsay, David Lugo, Synthia Rogers, Ellen Shaddock, and Bailey Thixton. Directed by Kenneth Latimer. Produced by Trey Birkhead.
