Decadent Dub Team was formed in 1985 by Dallas musicians Paul Quigg and Jeffrey Liles, along with a Denton-based musician named David Williams. The group was one of the original practitioners of sampling, mash-up culture, industrial influenced hip-hop, and found audio sound collage. Their first 12" single "Six Gun" was included on "The Sound of Deep Ellum" compilation album, and then remixed by NWA's Dr. Dre for the soundtrack to the Dennis Hopper-directed LA gang film "Colors".
Liles, (who released two spoken word albums under the name Cottonmouth, Texas) and Quigg (who also led the band Vibrolux) have most recently collaborated on the Kessler Theater in North Oak Cliff.
This also happens to fall on The Kessler's 6th Anniversary!
