Art Exhibit: People and Places | Liz Bonham

Elm Street Studio

This special exhibition of Liz Bonham’s studio and Plein Air oil paintings captures the people and places that she has come across in her most recent travels both, close and far from home. Bonham frequently paints “en plein air” because it is a way to express what she sees around her, and it enables her to connect with nature and creation on a more intimate level.

About her paintings Bonham says “It is only after creating an emotional connection with what is seen, that an artist can translate that emotion onto canvas and project it back to the viewer.  It is only from life that one can truly experience the overwhelming colors and sensitive values in nature.  I believe that is why the plein air movement has taken off in the art world recently.” Visitors to the gallery will be able to see the juxtaposition of several of the same scenes – one painted en plien air, and the other painted later in the studio.

As always, a portion of art sale proceeds will benefit a local charity. Mrs. Bonham has selected the Community Enrichment Center Food Bank.
