In partnership with the American Association of University Women (AAUW), the Farmers Branch Manske Library is proud to announce that author E. Benjamin Skinner, author of the book, "A Crime so Monstrous: Face-to-Face with Modern Day Slavery," will be at the Library to discuss his book and talk about human trafficking. Mr. Skinner’s definition of “slaves” as “people who are forced to work, under threat of violence, for no pay beyond subsistence” helped establish the enormity of the problem worldwide.
As he traveled the world observing the sale of human beings, his extensive research over five years took him to “trafficking networks and slave quarries, urban child markets, and illegal brothels.” Mr. Skinner has brought awareness to a serious issue that is happening all over the world, including Texas.
