The McCammon Voice Competition Committee under the auspices of the Opera Guild of Fort Worth will present an "Afternoon of Romantic Songs from the Operatic and Broadway Song Books." The husband and wife team of Kathryn Leehmuis, mezzo-soprano, and Paul Scholten, tenor, will thrill the audience with the romantic repertoire including solo arias from Don Carlo and Carmen, duets from The Barber of Seville and Don Giovanni plus selections from Carousel and Oklahoma and other prominent works.
Ms. Leehmuis, was the second place prize winner in the 2010 McCammon Voice Competition and will be singing the role of Javotte in The Dallas Opera's upcoming production of Manon in March 2016. Mr. Scholten appeared in the Fort Worth Opera production of Cosi Fan tutte as Guglieomo opposite Ms. Leehmuis as Dorabella.
