CYDONIA is pleased to announce Oscar Berglund's first American solo show: Somewhere In Between.
An opening reception honoring the artist will take place Sat. Jan. 30 from 6-8 p.m. The exhibition will be on display through March 19.
Oscar Berglund’s practice is inherently archaeological. Our history and culture are present in our materials. Rather than constructing an analysis from significant artifacts of material culture, he makes meaning through looking at mundane surroundings and what is often dismissed or discarded: contemporary ruins.
Diving deeper into process as cumulative, productive, and encapsulating, the artist searches for what underlies built surroundings. He examines the inherent erosion within and of monuments. Somewhere in Between will function as multi-media exhibition, featuring works on canvas, photography, and video in conjunction with a customized installation.
