The Last Days of Judas Iscariot

Facing judgment in the courtroom, “The Last Days of Judas Iscariot” assesses what the proper fate would be for the man who betrayed Jesus. Theatre Brookhaven presents a production of Stephen Adly Guirgis’s play Dec. 3-13.

With character witnesses like Mary Magdalene, Mother Teresa and Pontius Pilate, “The Last Days of Judas Iscariot” plays out the question of Judas’ role in the betrayal of Jesus and whether or not this was a true betrayal of God or an act of God in setting out the path Jesus’ fate.  This quest for and question of forgiveness is touched with humor and wrenches emotion from the actors and audience alike.

The play is directed by Darise Error, theater professor. Performances are Dec. 3-5 and 10-12 at 8 p.m., and Dec. 6 and 13 at 2:30 p.m. in the Black Box Theatre. The play may not be suitable for all audiences due to adult subject matter and language. Admission is free, but reservations are recommended as seating is limited.
