Gary Wingfield Quartet

Garrett Wingfield is a young composer and performer making his way onto the scene in the D/FW Metroplex. He is a recent graduate of Texas Christian University with a Bachelor's of Music in Music Composition. He currently resides in Denton, where he is pursuing a Master's in Jazz Arranging at the University of North Texas.
Garrett has shared the stage with jazz greats such as Randy Brecker, Peter Erskine, Andy Martin, Arturo Sandoval, Jim Snidero, Vincent Herring, Chris Vadala, Joe Eckert, and many others. He has both written for and performed with the University of North Texas One O'Clock Lab Band, the TCU Jazz Ensemble, the Rebel Alliance Jazz Ensemble and the Imperial Saxophone Quartet. He has had pieces and arrangements performed by Andy Martin, Arturo Sandoval, Greg Gisbert, and at both regional and national North American Saxophone Alliance conferences.

As a composer, Garrett often draws from real-life issues and phenomena, ranging from science to current events, literature to social media. Stylistically he is more volatile than niched, incorporating countless influences into each work. Through all that, however, his music still aims to maintain an air of playful lightheartedness.
