“Since my early youth I have been fascinated by the Bible. It has always seemed to me and it seems to me still that it is the greatest source of poetry of all time. Since then I have sought this reflection in life and in art. The Bible is like an echo of nature and this secret I have tried to transmit.” -Marc Chagall
Don’t miss Marc Chagall: Intersecting Traditions a free exhibition of hand-colored etchings from Chagall’s “The Bible” series at the University of Dallas’ Beatrice M. Haggerty Gallery from Feb 4-April 22, 2016. The exhibit, which explores the quintessential Jewish artist of the 20th Century and his lifelong fascination with the Bible, is made possible through the generosity of the Haggerty Family Foundation and Marquette University.
