Radium Girls

Collin College - John Anthony Theatre

A dream job turns into a radioactive nightmare for a group of young women in 1920s’ New Jersey in “Radium Girls,” the next production from the Collin College Theatre Department.

Based on true events, “Radium Girls” follows factory workers who paint fashionable watch dials with glow-in-the-dark radium, part of the fad of radioactive products available at the time, unaware of the long-term effects of exposure. While scientists, corporate executives, and social activists become aware of the truth, the women struggle for their lives and for justice.

“Radium Girls” is directed by Professor Robin Armstrong with a script by D.W. Gregory. Tickets are free for students, $5 for veterans, the military, and those ages 65 or older, and $10 per person for all others.
