Prey For Us deals with the issue of school shootings. It explores cultural contrasts and challenges expectations. Loretta Gonzalez is inspired by the spirit realms, dreams, Kawaii, and pop culture. The use of soft colors draws the viewer in for a closer look with emotional feelings of nostalgia, then repels the viewer with a message that is thought provoking and sometimes disturbing.
