Transmissions

Umbrella Gallery is excited to announce our new show "Transmissions" by local artist Glen Gauthier. The exhibit runs through February 26, but make sure to come out January 21 from 6-8 p.m. for an artist reception. Enjoy light refreshments and a chance to meet Glen and hear him speak about his work. This exciting exhibition features a large selection of collage and mixed media pieces exploring the idea of communicating with one’s past, present, and future self. We hope to see you there!

From the artist about the show:

"My work is a means of communication for me. A two-way radio that speaks through time – past, present and an imagined future. I am in an ongoing dialog with myself along this non-linear timeline. My work points inward, causing me to realize and address my childhood through previously buried memories and emotions. I take these, combine them with bits of paper and use all of this to imagine and create the future world that I will inhabit. I welcome viewers to use my work as a mirror to re-imagine their own personal stories."
