Our weekly art program offers the opportunity to work with professional artists in a variety of mediums and styles. Weekly Textile Art Classes, led by June Covington, will explore the fiber arts through hands-on experiments in spinning, weaving, dyeing, felt-making, soft sculpture and other skills. . While textiles are often categorized as crafts they are also gaining recognition in the Fine Arts. Students will use these projects to explore the principles and elements of Art: texture, volume, form, pattern, shape, color theory, and more. Some assigned projects may take more than one week and require time outside of class to complete. In addition, students will have opportunity for personal exploration in a specific medium.
