Molten Plains Fest is a two-day festival fostering the spirit of adventurous music and further sounds. 22 artists from 14 cities, a convergence of inestimable musical nourishment from a wide scope of what may be considered experimental, electronic, jazz, or contemporary composition.
A broad range of artists will be partaking the first edition of the festival: the internationally acclaimed Susan Alcorn, Rob Mazurek (Chicago Underground Duo, Exploding Star Orchestra), Bill Nace (the other half of Body/Head, along with ex-Sonic Youth’s Kim Gordon), Ka Baird, Luke Stewart (Irreversible Entanglements), and Weasel Walter (The Flying Luttenbachers, Lydia Lunch’ Retrovirus). Rising Latin-American explorers like Alma Laprida and CNPCN. Local pillars of creative music scenes as the Gonzalez siblings, some important regional musicians from Texas and Oklahoma, and of course, local experimental stalwarts.
It’s the first festival of its ilk happening in North Texas, and it’s also a celebration of the end of the year since we started the monthly series of the same name, Molten Plains.
Molten Plains Fest is taking place at our home base, Rubber Gloves Rehearsal Studio in Denton, Texas.
