Join the Textile Arts Forum at Oil and Cotton! Sign up for one, a few, or all the lessons. Let’s work our way through the World History of Textile Arts, with a focus on Spinning and Weaving! There is a world of work in the textile arts and so many ways to transform fibers into fabric. We will examine archaeological evidence as we sample a wide variety of materials throughout the year. These workshops are for beginners as well as experienced Fiber Artists.

ANCIENT TIMES Working with wool. We will prepare freshly sheared wool into batts and roving to spin on a supported spindle. Students will also practice using hackles, combs and other traditional fiber art tools. Students will take home a Tibetan style spindle with extra wool for practice.
