McKinney's Juneteenth Celebration

Towne Lake Park - Wilson Creek Recreation Area

Juneteenth commemorates the news of the Emancipation Proclamation reaching the enslaved people of Texas and is a long-held tradition among the African American community in McKinney. When the historic day was first recognized as a national holiday in 2021, people of all backgrounds enthusiastically converged upon our beautiful parklands for the first official McKinney Juneteenth Celebration!   The City of McKinney Juneteenth Celebration on Saturday, June 18th is an inclusive event for learning, entertainment, and enjoyment.   This year we proudly welcome the increasingly diverse audience of McKinney and surrounding areas to Towne Lake for: - Live Music Entertainment
- Food Trucks & Local Shops
- Kids / Family Fun Zone
- Wellness Activities
- Community Outreach Information   For more information: https://www.mckinneytexas.org/3366/Juneteenth-Celebration
