Create your own flowerpot! Explore textures, sculpting, and underglaze painting in this workshop with our local Denton Ceramics Collective artists. Attendance to workshops #1 and #2 are not required to take workshop #3. No previous knowledge or clay skills required. 2 of our members will be present to teach you some beginner level skills, such as rolling coils and slab construction. We can help you bring your planter design to life, and explain the glazing and firing process. You will leave your creation with us for several days to fully dry out, then we will fire it to a bisque temperature, dip your planter in a clear glaze, and then fire it again to a low-fire glaze temperature. You can then pick up your beautiful artwork from GDAC and show it off to your friends and family. This process will take roughly 2 weeks.Fee: 30$ a person (to cover materials used, and kiln costs) Tips on-site are greatly appreciated! We use these to purchase more tools and fun things for the next workshops.Intended for all ages, children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.
