Our Productions Theatre Co. will celebrate the start of our 30th Anniversary year with a newly formatted, 5th Annual Play Readers Club in Festival Format on Sunday, March 27 from 12 - 5 p.m.
The 2022 writers were selected from numerous submissions received. The festival is a free community event allowing playwrights the opportunity to have their work read and discussed. It is open to the public. The festival format of the event will feature multiple scripts being read in a rotating schedule over the course of one afternoon at the Lewisville Grand Theater, 100 N Charles St. in Lewisville.
The festival will be held in the open-air classrooms on the north side of the complex to allow for Covid safety. More details on safety protocols for the event will be published closer to the date due to the rapidly changing conditions. Schedule of readings will also be published soon. For more information visit www.ourproductionstheatreco.org or Facebook @ Our Productions Theatre Co. - Dallas/Lewisville/Flower Mound. Free parking is also plentiful at the Lewisville Grand.
Our Productions is also excited to announce a new portion of the festival specifically for youth writers under the age of 18. Several young writers were selected this year to kick off this special portion of the festival, Play Readers Club Jr., which will occur simultaneously with the festival.
Guest moderators including current Our Productions Board Members and previously featured Play Readers Club writers will be on hand to lead the post reading discussions. Sign up in advance for an opportunity to be a volunteer reader for one of the selected writers through our social media site or web page.
The event is sponsored in part by The City of Lewisville and The Town of Flower Mound.
Selected plays are "Ruby Tuesday" by Mike Byham and "A Man in the The Coat" by Robert Putman and Play Readers Club Jr. selections (for writers under age 18) are "Define Friend" by Jack Castello, "Rogue" by Sophie Rose Kirkham and "Dear God, Let Me Love Her" by Tara Mozena.
