Generation Jazz


Sammons Center for the Arts

Quamon Fowler, known as one of the young Texas Tenors, graces the stage with energetic and uplifting jazz. Quamon Fowler & Friends features Quamon Fowler on sax and EWI, Quennel Gaskin on piano, DeMarcus Walker on bass, Jason “JT’ Thomas on drums and Austin Ford on trumpet.

Paying tribute to an iconic jazz group, Andrew Griffith Plays Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers is led by drummer Andrew Griffith. His stellar band features Shelley Carrol on tenor sax, Ephraim Owens on trumpet, Andre Hayward on trombone, Peter Rioux on piano and Young Heo on acoustic bass.

Sammons Jazz is held at the Sammons Center for the Arts, 3630 Harry Hines at Oak Lawn. Tickets are $50 per person and include beverages, light refreshments, and valet parking. Doors open at 7 p.m.; the concert begins approximately at 7:30 p.m. There are two performance sets with an intermission between. Dress is casual. Seating is limited to maintain safe distancing and masks are required of all patrons.
