The McKinney Chamber Foundation is excited to announce their first Black History Month Art Exhibit. The event will be held at the McKinney Performing Arts Center, February 5-6 at 7 p.m. BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) Artists from the Collin County area and beyond are invited to submit their work for consideration to be included in the event’s art exhibition. Artwork may be of any media, and submissions are open for artists aged 15+. Artwork should reflect the artist’s interpretation of the concept of Identity, and should demonstrate the artist’s consideration of “Legends to Legacies” within the Black culture. Artists are encouraged to submit between 1-3 works. Artwork must be solely the original concept, design, and execution of the artist. A jury of art professionals will review the entries, and the artwork accepted for the show must be delivered to the McKinney Performing Art Center by the artist or representative. All work should be ready to hang (2D) or ready to display (3D). Cash prizes will be given to top awarded works, and all juried works will be on display at the event and on an online platform.
