THE CORE THEATRE ANNOUNCES THE PRODUCTION OF “THE TRIAL OF EBENEZER SCROOGE”
The Company Will Perform at The Core Theatre December 3 – December 19, 2021 with a special New Years Eve performance on the 31st

The Core Theatre’s Artistic Director James Hansen Prince today announced the company plans a limited run of The Trial of Ebenezer Scrooge, written by Mark Brown

Directed by James Hansen Prince, the ensemble cast features Matt Gunther as Scrooge, Rockey Carter as the Judge, Autumn McNamara as Mrs. Cratchit, Sara Wainwright and Mrs. Dilber, Megan Tormey as Fan and Belle, David Colville as Solomon Rothchild, Roland Carter as the Baliff, Kameron Emanuel as Christmas Future, Lydia Jordan as The Translator, Ryan Diller as Fred and Bob Cratchit, Lillian Carter as Christmas Past, and Gordon Fox as Jacob Marley.
The Trial of the Century! A year after his miraculous transformation, Ebenezer Scrooge is back to his old ways and is suing Jacob Marley and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future for breaking and entering, kidnapping, slander, pain and suffering, attempted murder and the intentional infliction of emotional distress. The ghosts employ Solomon Rothschild, England’s most charismatic, savvy, and clever barrister. Scrooge, that old penny pincher, represents himself. One by one, Bob Cratchit, Scrooge’s nephew, Fred, solicitor and philanthropist, Sara Anne Wainwright, and the ghosts themselves take the witness stand to give their account of the night in question.

 December 3 – December 19, 2021  with a Special New Years Eve Show Friday, December 31 at 6:30 p.m.  Dinner at the Vila Brazil Steakhouse and a show at The Core with a party to follow.

About the Director:
James Hansen Prince is the Artistic Director and Founder of The Core Theatre, a professional theatre company located in Richardson (Dallas), Texas.  He had his first taste of acting as a child at Chris Wilson’s Actor’s Theatre in Houston, Texas.  He later earned his B.A. in Theater from the University of Texas at Dallas.  In the 1980s, Mr. Prince steadily worked in theatres throughout the DFW and Houston areas.  His passion for acting continued to thrive as he progressed into television and film work.  From 1992-1994, he had his own traveling theatre company, “Theatre on the Square,” in Houston.  In 2008, he and his family moved back to Dallas.  After a long hiatus from acting, he was not only ready to return to acting, but to tell the stories that were welling up within him.  In July 2008, he held a public reading of his first play, “A Reason to Believe.”  In 2009, he opened The Core Theatre, a nonprofit 501 ( c ) ( 3 ) theatre company.  
Mr. Prince has acted and directed more than 300 productions, and written 7 full-length plays, including “Mother, Middle America and Men,” “Behind the Cotton Curtain:  Remembering Medgar Evers,” “A Debt that led to Home,” “Reason to Believe” and “Inferno!  Fire at the Cocoanut Grove:  1942.”  In addition to his prolific writing, he has directed several new productions from local Dallas playwrights along with other well- known plays.
