Justin Clumpner: Still Painting in Isolation

Kettle Art

Kettle Art proudly welcomes Justin Clumpner and his latest works in the exhibition 'Still - Painting in Isolation.'

These works were produced by the artist during downtime experienced during the covid-19 lock-down these past 18 months. His use of objects close at hand, such as flowers, coffee cans and family members constitute a large majority of this exhibit and are rendered lovingly with every brushstroke.

As a professional, high school arts educator in the Rowlett Independent School District, the artist also had to create several hours of online lessons for his students. These informative videos are shown on a constant loop, located in a corner of the gallery and are by no means bland nor boring. Also on view is the incredible 'space helmet' apparatus that Clumpner built as a safety precaution for his return to in-class teaching, that must be seen in person to truly appreciate.

In all, "Still' is a well prepared exhibit by an educator who truly loves both his subject matter and profession.
