Festival de Calaveras - Celebrating Day of the Dead


Latino Cultural Center

You're invited to the Festival de Calaveras - Celebrating Day of the Dead. Highlighting Literary Skulls (Calaveras), Music to Remember, and Cuisine.

Day of the Dead is when the living invite their loved ones whom have passed on to visit them on November 1st - Dia de Angelitos (infants and children) and November 2nd - Dia de Muertos (All Souls Day). They set up altars that include their favorites food and drink, and other important elements like their photo, candles, flowers and more.

7- 8 PM. Taste traditional Dia de Muertos Cuisine - you will taste mole, tamales, pan de muertos and drink traditional beverages like chocolate and ponches, $10.

Free Show:
8 PM - 8:30 PM. Music to Remember with singer/entertainer Marta Salazar.
8:30 PM to 9:30 PM. Calaveras Literarias by Poet/Artist Nephtali De Leon and local poets Tammy Melody Gomez, Virginia Alanis, Marta Salazar, Sylvana Flores Avila.

Community Altar: The centerpiece of Day of the Dead is the altar. We invite you to bring a photo of your loved one and place it on the community altar.Store/Tiendita. You may purchase Day of the Dead products, merchandise, and altar pieces for your home.
