That Book Woman

Allen Public Library

Join us for a free family-friendly concert of music pulled from the setting of That Book Woman, one of the books in this year's ALLen Reads program at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 3 at a live event and also virtually at allentx.swagit.com

You can count on rip roar-in' fiddle tunes that will have you dancing in the aisle and beautiful folk songs that will stay with you for days!

We're proud to feature two incredible guest artists.  Fiddler Katrina Glaze will be playing selections from Mark O'Connor's virtuosic "Strings and Threads." Soprano Julie Strauser will bring the Appalachian hills to life with stunningly set folk tunes from the region.

The program will be rounded out with other fun fiddle tunes, including the Hoedown from Aaron Copland's "Rodeo" and Ashokan Farewell, famous from Ken Burns' "Civil War" mini-series.

This program is a collaboration between the Allen Philharmonic Orchestra, Allen Public Library and the ALLen Reads program of the Friends of the Allen Public Library.

The library is located at 300 N. Allen Dr.  Call 214-509-4911 for additional information.
