One hundred years ago, in the midst of a pandemic, women won the right to vote - do you know the story? Hunger strikes. Beatings. Bombings.
Based on real, historical figures, It's My Party! delves into the messy backstory of the 19th Amendment. Facing an uphill battle in Washington, some suffragists employ increasingly radical tactics to make their voices heard--leading to bitter rivalries and a generational split that threatened to tear the suffragists’ movement apart from the inside!
One year after our It’s My Party! virtual readings, join Echo’s return to live theatre to once again celebrate the Centennial of the 19th Amendment and the incredible true story of the women who made it possible. This production is appropriate for all ages and will be followed by a talk-back with the cast after our Saturday matinees.
