The Dr. Block Jazz Collective leads off with a tribute to legendary jazz trombonist, J. J. Johnson. Trombonist and bandleader Dr. Tyrone Block is joined by guitarist Kevin Arellano, bassist Carlos Carrasco, pianist Denise Monterrosso and drummer Nicholas Brewer.
With Django Reinhardt’s repertoire of gypsy jazz as a departure point for its creative expression, Jazz Manouche features Kim Platko on guitar, Ginny Mac on accordion, Chris McGuire on clarinet and sax, Drew Phelps on bass, and Andrew Griffith on drums.
