And Dust To Mountains

For her exhibition And Dust To Mountains, TCU School of Art faculty Dan Jian presents new drawings, cut-outs, and animations featuring fragmentary and dreamlike stories in otherworldly landscapes. Merging interests in cultural memory and the tension between identity and tradition, Jian prospects an imagined narrative in charcoal, ink and dust.

Dan Jian is an Assistant Professor of Art in the TCU School of Art where she teaches drawing and painting. Her work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions nationally across the US, as well as internationally in China and Italy. She has participated in several artist residencies, notably 器 Organhaus contemporary art space, Chongqing, China and the Vermont Studio Center, Johnson, VT.
