Vadim Gluzman, “a master of Prokofiev’s musical domain” (Chicago Tribune), will mesmerize and shine in Prokofiev’s expressive and ultimately tumultuous Second Violin Concerto, whose final flurry of notes from the violinist are marked “tumultuoso” and for good reason. A Russian program to end the classical season will highlight the colorfully inventive and hugely influential orchestral sound palettes of Mikhail Glinka and Igor Stravinsky.
