Mu Phi Epsilon Dallas Alumni Chapter presents Min Kyung Kim and Jieun Lee, piano duo in concert on February 14th, 2021.  These concerts are usually held at the J. Erik Jonsson Central Library First Floor Auditorium in Dallas TX but at this current time library is closed and we will be holding our online on our website at http://muphiepsilondallas.org until further notice.

Korean Pianist Min Kyung Kim serves on piano faculty at Grayson College. As a pianist, she was recently awarded as a first-prize winner at the 2018 Golden Classical Music Awards International Music Competition and first prize winner at the 2019 IMC International Piano and String Competition. She performed in Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall in 2018 and 2019. Ms. Kim and her colleague, Jake Moon has premiered and recorded a Complete Music for Piano Duo and Duet, Volume two of Dmitry Shostakovich for Toccata Classics in London in 2016. Praised by critics as “skillful reading and energized performances… clean articulation … they’re terrific together”, they were described as being “powerful advocates of the music and clearly had a ball…” by MusicWeb International. She is a Toccata Classics Artist.

Jieun Lee was born in Seoul, South Korea and began piano studies at the age of six. She entered Sunhwa Arts Middle and High School in South Korea and made her orchestral debut at the age of 14 with the Gangdong Symphony Orchestra in Seoul. During her undergraduate studies at Chugye University for the Arts, she received an honors scholarship for outstanding academic performance and has performed at the Ewon Cultural Center, the Seoul Economic Daily Cheju Winter Festival, the J & R Music Festival, the 15th Annual Concert of Chugye University, and the Concertos night of Chugye University.
