A Tribute to Stéphane Grappelli Streamed Live on YouTube from Moody Performance Hall - no in-person attendanceStéphane Grappelli was a French-Italian jazz violinist who founded the Quintette du Hot Club de France with guitarist Django Reinhardt in 1934. It was one of the first all-string jazz bands. He has been called "the grandfather of jazz violinists" and continued playing concerts around the world well into his eighties.
Jazz violinist Scott Tixier, guitarist Davy Mooney and bassist Matt Clohesy, some of the best jazz artists in the world pay tribute to Grappelli’s unique manner infused with Gypsy influences. The program will be presented in mysterious Grappelli manner with surprise original repertoire decided on the spot.
