Celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Women's Right to Vote - the passing of the 19th Amendment with our new online exhibit. Texas was the ninth state in the U.S. and the first state in the South to ratify the amendment. By August 18, 1920, 36 states (including Texas) had approved the amendment and it became part of the United States Constitution. Included in the exhibit are a lecture by Melissa Pricer of Dallas Heritage Village discussing Suffrage in Dallas, Texas Suffrage Milestones, Pivotal Figures in Texas Suffrage, and related articles.
