Age:Adult (18+)
Description:This three-week class will explore bookbinding techniques to create a one-of-a-kind finished artist’s book. Participants will learn about the simply sewn pamphlet stitch book and get to experiment with mixed media practices.
The pamphlet stitch book is an ideal style to use for a book that does not have an enormous number of pages. The book will lay relatively flat when it is opened. This binding works best with about 10 to 15 pages. It may be bound with or without a hardcover. Traditionally, this is called a saddle stitch and was held together with staples. The class will explore image transfer options, painting, drawing, sewing, and more mixed media techniques to incorporate form & content.
