MOJAVE

The Core Theatre

Written and Directed by Bill Rhoten

April 3 - 19

MOJAVE is the true story of Olive Oatman, a young, Arizona pioneer taken captive by the Yavapai Indians in 1851 after they massacred her family.  She is sold to the Mojave Indians and her face is tattooed with their tribal markings.  Will the American cavalry be able to secure her freedom?  If so, after years of captivity and saturation in the Mojave culture, will she ever be embraced by the society from whom she was stolen?

Written by Bill Rhoten of Theatre Rocks!, this original play, inspired by his wife’s family tree, is a truly riveting account of an amazing life!
