The Dallas Public Library, Ignite and Media Projects present Sisters of '77.
This vibrant film recounts the passionate story of a revolutionary weekend in 1977 when twenty-thousand people gathered in Houston, Texas for the National Women's Conference.
Combining archival footage and featuring Betty Friedan, Gloria Steinem, Ann Richards, Liz Carpenter, Bella Abzug, and Ellie Smeal, Sisters of '77 by Cynthia Salzman Mondell and Allen Mondell, is a look at that pivotal weekend and an event that not only changed the lives of the women who attended but the lives of Americans everywhere.
The film screening will be followed by a panel discussion moderated by DMN Lauren Smart. Featuring Dallas County Treasurer Pauline Medrano and others TBD.
