Description: Each student will select an existing book to create a mixed media one-of-a-kind artist’s book. The idea is to find an inspirational/fun book to alter its original form/appearance and general subject meaning. Participants will learn about different bookbinding techniques that can be used to alter a book and get to experiment with mixed media practices. The workshop will explore image transfer options, painting, drawing, sewing, and more into the altered books.
Participants should come prepared with a book to alter along with their creativity! Books can be fiction, non-fiction, cookbooks, etc. Hard or soft covered books work well.
No experience is necessary. Creative supplies to create an altered book are supplied.
